On your marks! Get set? Go!

Sport, games and plenty of team spirit were on the agenda at our nursery today. The sports day was something many of the children had asked for in their questionnaires. So they were all the more delighted when this wish finally came true. In collaboration with the sports club SV Francke 08, a varied sports day was organised and held for all four nursery groups. The children did not compete as individuals, but worked as a team to collect points for their group. So, alongside physical activity and dexterity, the focus was above all on team spirit and mutual support. The children were able to demonstrate their skills at five exciting stations: the standing long jump and long throw required strength and coordination. The symbol relay race depended on speed and concentration. The »Transport Teamwork« station particularly challenged cooperation within the group, whilst accuracy was key in the beanbag target throw.

With plenty of enthusiasm, dedication and mutual encouragement, the children rose to every challenge and worked hard to score points for their team. The focus was always on having fun whilst being active. The weather was also at its best. With pleasant temperatures and a perfect mix of sun and clouds, conditions were ideal for a morning of sport on the sports field next to the Latina. At the end, every child received a certificate as a memento of a successful day full of exercise, joy and togetherness.

A big thank you goes to the team at SV Francke 08 for the excellent organisation and running of the sports day. The beaming faces of the children clearly showed that this wish from the children’s questionnaire was more than worth it.
