Children's Day

International Children’s Day, also known as World Children’s Day, is primarily intended to draw attention to children’s needs and rights. Of course, the children in our nursery aren’t necessarily interested in discussing legal texts. That’s why our team used this occasion to treat the children to a day full of wonders.

The ECKstein puppet theatre was invited to perform for the older groups: the Explorers, Butterflies and World Discoverers. In our Great Hall, the children were able to follow the story of the fisherman and his wife. Using everyday objects as stage props, his vivid puppets and a very talented performance, Mr Raimund Jurack created an hour full of excitement, entertainment and children’s laughter.

Meanwhile, for the Adventurers group, the Papenburg company’s children’s construction site was set up in our garden. Equipped with high-visibility vests and safety helmets, the three-year-olds were able to get to grips with all sorts of heavy materials. Car tyres, pipes, wooden planks and cable reels were moved, stacked and built upon.

Just in time for lunch, all the children (including the youngest ones) were treated to a delicious ice cream. The Eisburg Café van drove right into the nursery garden and served everyone a waffle ice cream. The children chose their own flavours from chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, raspberry, banana and mango. Anyone who wanted some was given colourful sprinkles to go with it.

Children’s Day was a thoroughly successful day for our children, full of exciting experiences, shared joy and special moments. The children went home with lots of lovely memories to take with them.
