Writing and speaking workshop on the topic of disorientation

How can disorientation be conveyed linguistically? Participants in a multi-day writing and speaking workshop at LeoLab, led by Julia Skilandat, explored this question.

Led by Julia Skilandat (Speech Science/Writing), a multi-day writing and speech workshop on the topic of disorientation took place at LeoLab. Together, the participants explored various linguistic and textual approaches to this topic.

The first two days of the workshop focused on physical and writing exercises. This resulted in collaboratively written short texts and word lists that play with various facets of disorientation. The final two days of the workshop were devoted to the linguistic shaping of the texts and their recording in the TIQ sound studio.

The resulting audio recordings are now being compiled into an audio collage that will be part of the annual exhibition “JEIN! An Interactive Exhibition on Orientation in the Face of Uncertainty.”
