Our family work team offers in the Historic Dairy space for meeting, exchange and counselling. Our focus is on open group activities for families, confidential (counselling) discussions, language support programmes and family, language and reading mentorships.

About us

Welcome to the Family Centre for Education and Health Issues!

From pregnancy to school age, we support and empower families in their everyday lives. With this goal in mind, we work together in a multi-professional manner under the umbrella of the Family Competence Centre in the following teams:

Services at a glance

Based in the Historic Dairy, our open house offers a space and a wide range of services for pregnant people and families with children aged 0-6. We also offer a wide range of opportunities to get involved in working with families and children. Detailed information on the individual services can be found in our programme. Whether you are looking for advice, exchange or concrete help – please feel free to contact us. Together with dedicated volunteers, our team offers a wide range of additional support in the following areas:

Family Mentors

We support young families in their new everyday life, e.g. with doctor's appointments, visits to the authorities or childcare.

Consultations

We offer confidential consultations for young families, where you can discuss anything that is on your mind. Whether you have uncertainties, questions about applications or are looking for suitable support services – we listen and support you along the way.

Language Support

We provide support during conversations with families in their family language and/or help each other learn German/other languages.

Reading Mentors

We go to places like nurseries and after-school centres to read aloud and get children excited about stories and books.

Detailed information on the individual services is available in our programme. Whether you need advice, exchange, or concrete help, please feel free to contact us.

You can also find an overview and further advice and support services offered by the Francke Foundations in our Advice and Help section.
