After-school centre August Hermann Francke
Registration at the After-school Centre
The August Hermann Francke after-school centre is affiliated with the municipal primary school of the same name on the grounds of the Francke Foundations. Registration takes place at the same time as your child's school registration.
If you would like to find out more about our facility or have any questions, please call us to arrange an appointment.
The daycare administration office at the Francke Foundations (House 37) is open Monday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Initial Meeting with Parents
Getting to know each other well is important to us – that's why, in preparation for the first parent-teacher meeting at the after-school care centre, you will receive a guide containing questions about your child, your living situation and any individual characteristics.

7 January: First day of childcare in 2026
13 March: Training day for after-school care (after-school centre closed all day)
20–22 March: Francke Celebration, Francke Foundations
15 May: Company holidays (after-school centre closed all day)
20–21 June: Historical Linden Blossom Festival of the Francke Foundations
21 August: Francke Foundations company outing (after-school centre closed all day)
20 November: After-school care training day (after-school centre closed all day)
25 November: Francke Foundations staff meeting (after-school centre closed from 2:45 p.m.)
18 December: Last day of care in 2026
The after-school centre will be closed from 21 December 2026 to 2 January 2027.
Approval has been granted by the Board of Trustees (1 October 2025).
After-school Centre ABC
Our after-school centre ABC is designed to help you find answers to your questions. We are happy to talk to you and hope to establish a good partnership for the well-being of your child at our facility.
We are always open to questions and suggestions.
Quarterly Letters
What have your children been up to at after-school centre? Our quarterly newsletters are designed to give you regular updates on your children's everyday life at the after-school centre. You will gain insights into shared experiences, celebrations and activities.
We will also keep you informed about upcoming dates and closing times.
Engagement
If you would like to support us in our work, you can do so through an internship or voluntary/honorary work.
You should have the following qualities:
Patience, resilience, a knack for working with children aged 6–10, ideas, humour, team spirit.
