Registration at the Nursery
If you would like to register your child at our facility, please contact the management by phone or email to arrange a viewing appointment. Appointments are usually held on Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Registration and Deregistration of full-day care
Meals for children are provided throughout the day by the catering company DLS Dienstleistungs- und Service GmbH.
This includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, drinks and fruit.
You can cancel your child's meal for the current day until 7:00 a.m. This can be done conveniently via the app provided by the supplier on its website.
My child is sick
If your child is ill, please call us as soon as possible on +49 (0)345 21 27 417.
- Children who have a contagious illness or are infested with vermin are not allowed to attend the nursery due to legal regulations.
- If your child has a contagious infectious disease, the nursery must be informed immediately.
- Once your child has recovered, you must provide a medical certificate confirming that your child is healthy again and that there are no concerns about them attending the nursery. This also applies if your child has been sent home with the advice to see a doctor due to an acute illness.
- Children with diarrhoea, vomiting and fever must always be taken to see a paediatrician.
- As a general rule, no medication may be administered at the nursery. In exceptional cases, with the permission of the doctor and the parents, exceptions to this rule may be made.
For new admissions, we require a health certificate from the doctor, which must not be older than three weeks.

15 May: Bridge day (nursery closed all day)
20–21 June: Historic Linden Blossom Festival of the Francke Foundations
31 July: Moving day at the nursery (nursery closed all day)
21 August: Francke Foundations company outing (nursery closed all day)
6 November: In-house further training (nursery closed all day)
25 November: Staff meeting at the Francke Foundations (nursery closed from 2.30 p.m.)
The nursery will be closed from 23 December 2026 to 3 January 2027.
Engagement
The August Hermann Francke daycare centre receives regular support from the Friends of the Francke Foundations. Thank you very much for this!
The parents of some of the daycare children have joined forces to form a support association, which provides us with unfailing assistance. Most recently, new play equipment was purchased for the outdoor area. We would like to express our sincere thanks for this!
We invite all parents to get actively involved.
We also offer trainees, interns and people doing a voluntary social year the opportunity to complete their practical hours with us. You can find more information on the Francke Foundations' careers page.
